Canadian Small Business Grants Open Right Now (July 2026)

Guide · By G Paul · Founder, BBN Labs · Updated

As of July 2026, 82 grant and rebate programs that any qualifying small business can apply to are open across Canada — verified with their official sources, with the check date on every record. The nearest hard deadlines: Montréal's storefront renovation grant closes August 31, Oshawa's facade and accessibility grant September 1, and Saskatoon's facade grant September 9. The biggest broadly-available caps run to $75,000 for Ottawa heritage storefronts and $50,000 for Ontario technology projects. This page is refreshed monthly; everything on it is subject to program rules, available funding, and approval.

This is the monthly what's-open page: the real count, the deadlines that bite soonest, and the largest verified caps — all from a registry checked with official sources. Programs close when budgets run out, so the verified date on each record matters more than any list, including this one.

Most of the 82 open programs have no fixed deadline on record — those intakes simply close when budgets run out, which is its own kind of deadline.

How to use a month like this

  • Deadline programs first: an application you start in July lands comfortably before an August 31 or September 1 close; one you start in September does not.
  • No-deadline programs are not no-urgency programs — budget exhaustion closes intakes without notice.
  • Approval before spending is the rule on most of these. Order your project around it.
  • Check back monthly: this page is refreshed with the new count and the next round of deadlines.

BBN Labs checks which of the open programs fit your business — free, in about two minutes — and when a program fits, we do the funded work and help you manage the application and deadlines so you do not lose the money. Approval always rests with each program administrator, subject to program rules, available funding, and approval.

Frequently asked questions

How many small business grants are open in Canada right now?

82 grant and rebate programs open to any qualifying small business as of July 2026, verified with their official sources — not counting loans, financing, or programs limited to specific owner groups. The full list, with every verified date, is on our funding page.

What's the next big deadline?

Montréal's storefront renovation grant (40% up to $50,000) closes August 31, 2026, followed by Oshawa's facade and accessibility grant on September 1 and Saskatoon's facade grant on September 9.

Why do programs without deadlines still close?

Budgets. Most Canadian funding programs accept applications until the year's allocation is spent, then pause or close without much notice. That is why every record on our list carries the date we last verified it.

When is this page updated?

Monthly, with the new open-program count and the next set of verified deadlines. The underlying records are re-checked on their own rolling schedule, shown on each program page.
