Frequently asked questions
How many small-business loans are there in Canada right now?
100 verified programs are open as of our latest checks: all of them loans or financing you repay, across 13 provinces and territories. Programs open and close through the year, and every record shows the date we last verified it.
Are any of these grants?
No. Everything on this page is a loan or financing you repay: term loans, lines of credit, government-backed financing and repayable contributions. We keep loans and grants strictly separate so a repayable program never reads like free support. If you want money you don't repay, start from the main funding directory instead.
Who approves these applications?
Each program's administrator, usually the government body or organization that runs it, and never us. BBN Labs is an independent Canadian company, not a government agency. Applying through the official program site is always free.
