How we verify funding records
Funding advice is only worth something when it is true today. Every program here comes from the government page that runs it. We read that page before the program goes on the site, and you can see when we last read it. Programs we haven’t finished checking are marked as drafts and kept out of search results.
The rules
What verified means here
- Every record links the official source, the only authority that matters. Many pages also quote one verbatim sentence from that source, with the date we checked it.
- Amounts are stated the way the program states them, always as “up to” where a cap exists; a repayable loan is never called a grant.
- When applications close, the page says so and we watch for reopening instead of leaving stale advice up.
- We re-check records on a schedule, and the “last verified” date only moves when a real re-check happens.
- Programs we could not verify to this standard stay off the public site entirely.
Independence
Who we are, and who decides
BBN Labs is an independent Canadian company, not a government agency, and applying through the official program site is always free. We screen and explain; each program’s administrator makes every eligibility and approval decision. The numbers behind these claims are public: see the live funding statistics, which carry the same verification dates and are free to reuse with attribution.
Check your funding fit
Two minutes against every verified program we track, with honest answers about what fits and what doesn't.
