Gatineau Downtown-Core Revitalization Grant
This Gatineau program pays back up to 70% of eligible costs, up to $50,000, for interior renovations in the downtown core. It is a cost-share grant, so you pay first and get reimbursed after approval. Applications are closed right now and we watch for reopening.
“Le montant maximum de l'aide financière pour un projet correspond à 70 % des dépenses admissibles estimées, sans excéder 50 000 $.”

How applying works
Effort: mediumYou send the city an application with quotes and photos. You need approval before you start, and you claim the money after the work is done.
- 01Confirm your property is in the program area and funds are available
- 02Get the city's written pre-approval BEFORE starting
- 03Complete the approved work
- 04Submit your costs for reimbursement
Documents commonly required
- Quotes/estimates for the work
- Photos of the current storefront
- Proof of property ownership or owner's consent
What to know before you count on it
- Cost-share: you pay for the work first, then you're reimbursed (up to 70%) after it's done and inspected.
- Apply and get approved before you start any work or buy anything. Work started before approval may not be paid back.
- Only businesses in Gatineau's downtown core area qualify. Confirm your address is inside the area before you spend.
- Municipal funding is limited each year. Confirm money is still available.
What are your odds?
Applications are open until October 19, 2026. Your business must be in Gatineau's downtown core, and city funding is limited, so apply early and get approval before you start work.
