What it is, and why to start there
The Business Benefits Finder is operated by Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada. It pulls together more than 1,500 supports across federal, provincial and territorial governments, and it's free. You answer a few quick questions and it returns a tailored list grouped by category. For discovery, it's genuinely good. Run it.

What a list of matches doesn't answer
A finder is a discovery tool, and discovery is only the first of several questions an owner actually has. A list of programs you might qualify for doesn't tell you:
- Which ones are worth your time. A $2,500 grant with a heavy application and a low approval rate is not the same opportunity as a $50,000 one you're well-positioned for, but on a list they look similar.
- How much you could realistically get. Many programs advertise a ceiling few businesses reach, and many grants are cost-shares where you fund part of the project first.
- Your odds. Some programs approve nearly everyone who's eligible; others are competitive. A list doesn't say which.
- How to actually do it. A finder can point you to the funding. It can't build your website, design your signage, coordinate the trades, or help you manage the application and the deadlines.

- Run the official Business Benefits Finder for the widest possible list of what you might qualify for.
- Narrow it to what's genuinely worth pursuing for your business and your project.
- Confirm each one's current status and deadline on its official page.
- Do the work the funding pays for.
