Welland Downtown & Health Wellness Cluster Facade Improvement Grant
The City of Welland pays 50% of the cost of work on the front of your building, up to $12,500, with extra for side or rear walls and heritage work. This is a cost-share grant: you pay first and the city pays you back after the work is done and inspected.

How applying works

What to know before you count on it
- Cost-share: you pay for the work first, then you're reimbursed (about half) after it's done and inspected.
- Apply and get approved BEFORE you start any work or buy anything. Work that starts early can disqualify your project.
- Only properties in Welland's designated Community Improvement Plan (CIP) or Business Improvement Area (BIA) zone qualify. Check that your address is inside the zone before you spend.
- The extra heritage top-up (up to $7,500) applies only to designated heritage buildings; the base 50% grant does not require heritage status.
- Municipal funding is limited each year. Confirm money is still available.
