Toronto Commercial Space Renovation Grant
Toronto's renovation grant pays back up to $20,000 for interior work on a commercial space, plus up to $4,000 for accessibility work. What to know before you count on it
- Cost-share: you pay for the work first, then the city reimburses its share (about half) after it's done and inspected.
- When the program reopens, apply and get approved before you start any work or buy anything. If you start early, you can lose the grant.
- Only certain Toronto commercial spaces qualify: vacant spaces, or spaces affected by transit work or by CERS. Before you spend, ask the city what CERS covers and whether your address qualifies.
- Municipal funding is limited each year. Confirm money is still available.
